An off-duty officer was killed Saturday morning in a crash on a California highway, when he was on his way home from work, police said.
The Buena Park Police Department, wrote on Instagram late Saturday, the department mourned the loss of the public Art Brice.
Brice, 58, was on his way home from a shift at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, when he was involved in the crash”, which, tragically, claimed his life,” the post said.

“Officer, Brice, the city and the people of Buena Park for 11 years of faithful service as one of our reserve officers,” the post read.
The Off-duty Officer, Art Brice, died on Saturday in a crash on a California highway, when he was on his way home from work, police said.

Brice had been assigned to the department’s gang unit, and patrol. He has also served as a member of the division Color Guard.
The crash was reportedly on the 91 Freeway in the Corona, which is about 45 minutes away from Los Angeles, california.
The trailer of a truck, free-standing, and the driver of the tractor-trailer pulled to a stop and called the police, according to The Press-Enterprise, who took out the California Highway Patrol. A minute later, Brice’s car hit the rear side of the disabled trailer, and then spun to the right, where it hit a second tractor-trailer, the newspaper reported.
Brice, reportedly, were trapped in the vehicle and emergency responders had to free him. An Ambulance rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Officer Brice will be remembered as a genuine, gentle, cheerful presence, always ready to lend a hand to help, whether that is a good thing,” The Buena Park Police department’s Instagram post read. “One of his favorite topics of discussion with his 8-month-old grand-daughter.”
The police department and added, “please Officer, Brice’s family in your prayers. We would like to thank the community and related agencies have achieved and the support being offered.”

He is survived by his wife, two teenage children, his ex-wife and a son and a daughter, the newspaper reported.
“He was one of the most amazing human being I’ve ever met,” Brice, the woman manages to sneak up on, he told the newspaper. “I have been blessed by his presence in my life, even though it was much too short a time.”
His son told the newspaper Brice, an Army veteran, was on his way back home to Moreno Valley, it is a move in the Buena Park area, where he would continue to work in the evenings and on the weekends, when the crash occurred.

A procession is held to carry Brice, who reportedly had an area of the hospital, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office in the afternoon on a Saturday.
This past February, the Buena Park city council, was honored Brice for a decade of service.
