Of Delaware, a nursing home locked down after the shooting death of a 79-year-old wife and the 82-year-old man

In a Delaware nursing home and was locked out for about an hour on Saturday as police investigated the shooting death of an 82-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman.

The gunfire at the ManorCare of Wilmington pause for a quiet lunch for the two dozen or so residents at the facility-dementia wing, and Fox 29 In Philadelphia reported.

The woman that was slain, who was present at the grand piano at the train station. The man was obviously a visitor. As their relationship and identities are not disclosed.

Delaware State Police troopers were dispatched to the ManorCare of Wilmington for the report of a shooting. An 82-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman, were also killed.

“A gun found at the scene,” Delaware State Police said in a news release.

The families of ManorCare residents waited anxiously to hear their loved ones were safe, the station reported.

“My mother is out there somewhere. She is 85-years-old. We haven’t talked to her. We don’t know anything other than they are to tell us that everyone is safe and they are going to be able to be with us,” Arlene Beard told the station.

“We are very saddened by this and our hearts go out to the person, the family, the” ManorCare spokeswoman Julie Beckert said the Wilmington News Journal. “We’re going to focus on our employees and our patients to benefit from, to make sure that everyone is well and working through it.”
