Oerol-creator of Joop Mulder stops
Joop Mulder, the creator of the Oerol festival on Terschelling, it quits. He’s going to throw himself into his other artistic project, Sense of Place.
He says that in the Leeuwarder Courant of Saturday.
“I am so passionate about Sense of Place that I spend my time in wants to cross. In addition, general manager Marelie van Rongen and artistic director Kees Lesuis as the artistic director very well at the Festival. I can with confidence away,” said the 63-year-old Mulder.
He started the ‘Oerol’ (‘everywhere’) in 1981 in his café The Sidewalk in Midsland. It has become one of the largest locatietheaterfestivals of Europe. Last year, of 135,000 tickets sold.
With a Sense of Place wants Mulder to show how man has interfered in the Waddenkustgebied. He organizes art projects along the Dutch wadden sea coast, and extends that deadline to the Danish and German wadden sea coast. Mulder hopes there are many ‘cultural tourism’ to attract.
