Obama’s cyber chief “state-confirmed-down” order against the Russian Cyber-attacks

The former Obama administration National Security Council cybersecurity coordinator Michael Daniel, confirmed on Wednesday that a “stand down” command was given, to counter the Russian Cyber-attacks during the election in 2016.

During a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing, sen. James Risch, R-Idaho, asked Daniel about a passage in the book of Russian Roluette. The passage was.a staff member of Daniel’s team, Daniel Prieto, a retelling of the time that Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice said Daniel and his team to stop their efforts and the “stand down” in the fight against Russia’s Cyber-attacks

Daniel was quoted as saying to his team, that you are had to stop working on options to counter the Russian attack: “We have already said, back.” Prieto cited as “incredulous and in disbelief,” and ask, “Why the hell are we to stand down?”

Daniel and his team were tasked in the development of options to the Russian Cyber-attacks on the United States. The Russian hacked the democratic National Committee servers in the year 2015 and in the voter registration systems of several U.S. States in 2016.
