Private man, Barack Obama gained a rock-star-like reception this week in one of the areas in which he is admired: the liberal bastion of San Francisco.

“You are not supposed to be at work now?” Obama called oohing and ahhing the fans, the spotted, the former President, while he reported upon leaving the offices of Airbnb on Thursday, the San Francisco Chronicle.

A crowd of about 100 people screamed and applauded after seeing the former commander-in-chief, the newspaper reported.

Demarris Evans, a lawyer who had happened to be present, called Obama’s spontaneous remark “hilarious.”

“It just shows why people love him so much,” Evans said.

Obama had planned for a discussion with Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky. The two have allegedly already know, since 2015, in the case of Chesky is a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurshiop, a company statement read was named.

Before this week, one of Obama’s recent Bay Area appearances occurred in the year 2016, when he spoke at the seventh annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit at Stanford University’s Memorial Auditorium, the reported timeline.

Obama was the next planned trip to Seattle to headline a reception for Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee event.
