Nyck de Vries is the sprintrace in the Monaco Grand Prix Saturday as the seventh ended. That result proved to be just not enough to leader Nicholas Russell to pass in the world-position of the Formula 2.
De Vries earned his seventh position, two points for the CHAMPIONSHIP-mode. Russell, who is the sprintrace Saturday started with a lead of one point on the Dutchman, ended in tenth spot out of the points and looked like his leading position to lose.
Russell noted, however, the fastest lap and earned, therefore still two points, which he De Vries, barely leaving in the ranking (94 to 95 points).
The 24-year-old Dutchman of ART Grand Prix victory Friday in the hoofdrace and conquered this 29 points for the world cup mode, while Russell in that match without points remained. The 23-year-old Canadian lost a front wing during a failed inhaalactie in the hairpin and ended just as the thirteenth.
Hubert wins sprintrace, Schumacher eleventh
The 22-year-old Frenchman Anthoine Hubert came Saturday in the sprintrace first across the finish line. The Swiss Louis Delétraz finished second and the Chinese Guanyu Zhou completed the podium (third).
Mick Schumacher, son of seven times world champion in Formula 1 Michael Schumacher, came after thirty laps as the eleventh on the finish.
The Grand Prix weekend in Monaco was the fourth of this year. The Formula 2 season at the end of June continued with the Grand Prix of France.
