NVWA prohibits sale of kookbranders
There is a lot wrong with the safety of large kookbranders, also known as wokbranders called. This is apparent from examination of the Dutch Food and consumer product safety Authority (NVWA). The burners are often used when large groups need to be cooked, for example at fairs, flea-markets, scouting or zeilkampen.
The NVWA investigated fifteen kookbranders and thirteen of them can be a dangerous situation arise because one of the control knobs is missing.
Such protection ensures that if the flame goes out, automatically, the gas supply stops. It can also happen that if incomplete combustion carbon monoxide is formed. That is especially dangerous if the burners in closed rooms, such as kitchens or tents.
Not a single surveyed kookbrander came good by the test, and, therefore, the NVWA is the sale is prohibited.
