Number of treatments alcohol poisoning increases by 15 percent
Last year on the departments Emergency care in hospitals 6.100 people treated for alcohol poisoning, 15 percent more than in 2014.
In more than half of the cases involved teenagers and young adults under the age of 25, reports Veiligheid.nl.
Many so-called comazuipers are under 18 years of age. The number of cases in this age group since 2006 has been doubled from eight hundred to 1.600.
“The risk to alcohol poisoning on the a & e is highest in the age group of 18 to 24, followed by the age group 10 to 17 years,” said Veiligheid.nl.
