CHARLOTTE, N. C. – A North Carolina college student ready for a deportation hearing has learned, she can stay in the US.
Local media reported Sthefany Flores was scheduled to appear on Wednesday in Charlotte for an immigration meeting that may have led to her being deported to Honduras.
Flores, a junior honours student at Gardner-Webb University, received a letter from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement on April 1, says arrangements to send her back to a?country they haven’t been yet?since she was 7 years old.
On Monday, Flores was told ICE cream was to cancel the meeting. She said that officials told her signals had gotten crossed between the ICE and the US. Citizenship and Immigration Services, which provides for renewals for the Deferred Action for Child Arrivals program, and that her DACA expansion is located.
