Nintendo looks to sell 3DS to increase considerably after the success of Pokémon Go
Nintendo saw sales of its 3DS console in July to increase considerably, along with sales of Pokémon games for the handheld.
The 3DS according to Nintendo in July the best-selling game hardware in the U.S., reports Polygon.
Nintendo blames that success to three things: the appearance of the game Monster Hunter Generations, a price drop of the Nintendo 2DS and the huge success of mobile game Pokémon Go.
That success is reflected in the sales of Pokémon games for the Nintendo 3DS. So were the games Pokémon Omega Ruby and Omega Sapphire last July, 80 percent more are sold than in July 2015. Both titles appeared at the end of 2014.
Of the end of 2013 appeared games Pokémon X and Pokémon Y were even 200% more copies sold than a year ago. Due to the strong sales of the games according to Nintendo moved to the 16th and 22nd place in the ranking for software sales in 2016.
Pokémon Go appeared at the beginning of July in the US, since July 16, is the game also in the Netherlands officially available.
