Nine searches Brussels in terrorismeonderzoek
The Belgian police has by the end of Tuesday, nine homes in and around Brussels is searched in an investigation of possible recurrent Syriëstrijders. Eleven people have been taken for interrogation.
There were no weapons or explosives found.
The searches took place in the municipalities of Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, Koekelberg, Laeken, Jette and Schaarbeek, left the federal public prosecutor’s office know. Also in the municipality of Brussels itself and Liedekerken, a place west of Brussels, were houses searched.
The investigating judge will decide later in the day or the answer to the arrests lead. The research is completely independent of the attacks in Paris (november 2015) and Brussels (march 2016), according to the public prosecutor’s office that no further details would give.
