Nine dead and dozens of people kidnapped in Niger
Extremists in Niger have nine people killed and dozens kidnapped. According to a mayor and a journalist in the area where it happened, it is likely to be an action of terrorist organisation Boko Haram.
The attackers drove Sunday night on camels to the village Ngalewa within, said the journalist.
He said after talks with fleeing villagers that nine people are killed and thirty people were kidnapped. The districtsburgemeester reported that dozens of women and children were taken.
Ngalewa is located at about fifty kilometers from the border with Nigeria, where the terrorists have their headquarters. The insurgents of Boko Haram regularly attacks in Niger from their stronghold in the northeast of Nigeria.
