Viacom’s children’s network Nickelodeon is the cutting of the bands with Dan Schneider, one of the most productive producers.
The creator of several Nickelodeon hits including “iCarly,” “Kenan & Kel” and the network of the current top-rated show, “Henry Danger,” Schneider is connected with the channel for three decades. Stars who got their start on Schneider’s shows are Amanda Bynes, Ariana Grande, and Jamie Lynn Spears.

“After many conversations with each other about the following directions and opportunities for the future, Nickelodeon and our long-standing creative partner, Dan Schneider/Schneider’s Bakery have agreed to an extension of the current deal,” the network and the creator said in a joint statement.
While Schneider’s contract to produce shows Nickelodeon has not yet expired, a window had opened for the two sides to re-evaluate the relationship. Two of Schneider’s new shows are disappointments in the ratings.
The decision to end the long time relationship between Nickelodeon and Schneider is the second major shift is on Nickelodeon in the past few weeks. Last month, Viacom restructuring of the leadership team at the network, old Nickelodeon President Cyma Zarghami abandonment of a number of operational responsibilities on the channel to Sara Levy, who has similar responsibilities at Viacom other cable networks.
Schneider is a well-regarded producer, he can be difficult to work with, and was known for having a bad temper and verbal abuse, the people in the network and its shows said.
A spokesman for Schneider not respond to a request for comment.
