The Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) opened on Saturday morning, an airport, the emergency shut-down all air traffic in the New Jersey air hub for nearly an hour.

Reps for EWR, announced the news on Twitter, at the 8:46 a.m., the passengers have to “check with your carrier before coming to the airport.”

About an hour later, officials said that the airport was re-opened, but passengers should “expect delays” and will continue to check with their carrier for updates, Fox 5 DC reports.

It is not clear at this time why is EWR closed.

Witness tweeted that a plane might make an emergency landing, is seen on the tarmac surrounded by emergency vehicles, according to the NJ.com.

United Airlines flight 2098, reportedly left New York’s LaGuardia Airport at 7:57 pm, on Saturday and was diverted to EWR, as well as by new york city’s web-site.
