A New York City-a woman convicted of killing her aunt with a meat cleaver and rape of a teenage relative, was on Tuesday convicted and sentenced to 23 years in prison.
Elizabeth Sanchez, a 32-year-old, also known as Digna Sanchez-Ortiz, pleaded guilty in June to first-degree manslaughter and second-degree rape, and, as a result of the incident, which happened between December of 2016 and March of 2017, court records show.

Sanchez was murdered with her aunt, Maria Palaguachi, at her home in Jamaica, in the borough of Queens, in March of 2017, acting in the Queens District Attorney, John Ryan, said. Palaguachi, 50, is said to have allowed the Guard to stay with her, as now there was nowhere else to go.
“This defendant brazenly took the life of their family member, or someone who took her back to her house, and when the woman didn’t have a place to stay,” Ryan said, according to the Daily News. “This was a brutal attack that have traumatized a whole family.”

Sanchez also pleaded guilty to the statutory rape of a male relative under the age of 15 are up to three times.
Convicted and sentenced to more than two decades in prison, and now there will be 2 1/2-to-7-year sentence on the rape charges, concurrently with her prison sentence for the murder of her aunt.
