A democratic congressional candidate in the state of New York, said she supports a ban of some weapons, but recognised that they will never say so in public for fear of losing the election.
“When I was in this thing today, the first table, I was told a woman,” How do you feel about assault rifles?’ And I said, you should be banned,” Tedra Cobb is to hear, reported told a group of teenagers in a video released on Monday, the Washington Free Beacon.
“And I said, you know, get up the people, to go, to go, get your lunch, because it was a buffet, and I just said to her, ‘I want you to know, Cindy, I can’t say that,” Cobb added.

The candidate, against the Republican incumbent, Elise Stefanik in New York’s 21st constituency, in the northernmost part of the state, was blamed by others for their silence on the issue in the public.
Cobb stated that they are not publicly supported a gun ban, because doom her election chances.
“And she said, ‘Well, I want you’, and I said, ‘I’m not going to win,'” Cobb said. “I said, says Moms Demand [Action], Tricia and Pleau [a member of the gun-control group Moms Demand Action] said, ‘don’t tell me you don’t want to ban an assault rifle-because you win.'”
Cobb has a platform for addressing gun violence nationwide, including the extension of universal background checks and a ban on bump-share. But none of their official proposals, propose to ban any kind of firearms.
The Republican party jumped on the theme, exhibition of blatant attack on Cobb, calling them “Wild out of touch” and accused her of “lying to the voters.”
“Tedra Cobb knows that she is wildly out of touch with the circle, so you desperately tried to hide their liberal agenda, the voters,” Chris Martin, the regional press Secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee, told the Free Beacon.
“At first, she was forced to admit that they raised taxes more than 20 times [St. Lawrence County official], and she is now suspended if you lie to the voters about their support for an assault ban weapons and taking weapons away from law-abiding citizens,” he added.
