The second season of the popular Dutch televisiecomedy The Luizenmoeder will start on Sunday 10 February. Broadcaster AVROTROS informed on Friday the first images of the vervolgseizoen.
The first broadcast on 14 January 2018 has been viewed by 545.000 viewers, but this number rose thanks to online looking back to 1.594.000.
The Luizenmoeder started with less than a million viewers on the tv, but reached in the fourth episode a highlight, with nearly 3.5 million viewers. Then, the number of viewers hovering around three million. Also online has the nine episodes of existing series of records broken.
In February of this year it became known that the NPO3-hbo’s hit series a second season. “With these figures in our report may be a second season of course”, wrote broadcaster AVROTROS as a result of the high ratings.

In June got the NPO series the Silver debut competition. The jury praised the comedy, because the series has a wide group of people represents. “The Luizenmoeder that we are. Hello all: young, old, left, right, canals, province, politically correct or politically incorrect. No one escaped, no one was spared,” said the jury.
The program was also nominated for the Gouden Televizier-Ring.
The program was best viewed NPO3-program of the past ten years. The leading roles are played by Jennifer Hoffman (Hannah), Henry van Loon (Volkert), Diederik Ebbinge (Anton), Ilse Warringa (Ank) and Bianca Krijgsman (Nancy). Warringa and Hoffman were also nominated for the Televizier-Star.
