New evidence that women have better memory than men
The presumption that women have a better memory is again by scientists confirmed.
A group of women between 45 and 55 did it in a geheugenonderzoek better than men of the same age. The subjects performed a number of memory tests. So they had periods of their life calls them, and they were tested on face recognition.
On all fronts they did it better than men of the same age group. In total 212 subjects, investigated by scientists of the American menopause organization NAMS. The research is published in the scientific journal Sleep Health, reports Medical News Today.
From a study 2015 found that women have a better memory than men, because they have on average a bigger brain. The hippocampus, where memories are stored, is also greater than in men.
Except for differences between men and women, there was again a difference between women before and after menopause. Menopause do the memory any good. Earlier research suggests that this is due to a reduced oestrogen.
