Network of thuisbatterijen need back-up for national grid
Eneco wants thuisbatterijen a role to play in balancing the national grid. The batteries for solar have put together a back-up.
That leaves Eneco Friday know. In a thuisbatterij can be a household self-generated solar power to save, for example, in the evening to consume.
According to the power company for the national grid, a large reserve capacity needed for unexpected peaks and troughs in the net to be able to adapt. Grid operators buy the this capacity now, especially in gas – and coal-fired power plants.
The new network of batteries at desired moments can be charged or discharged and thus spare capacity to supply to the national grid. Eneco himself speaks about a ‘virtual power plant’ called Eneco Crowdnett.
In search of households
The energy company is looking for households who have a thuisbatterij like to purchase to participate in the project. Only people with a minimum of six and up to 25 solar panels may participate. Who participates, must immediately make a contract for a five-year exit.
The new service will also work Tesla, zonnepanelenleverancier SolarEdge and the Swiss software company Ampard. The companies want to start with a network of four hundred batteries.
