Following In the footsteps of the Dutch in Netflix’s series, Grew up with the streaming service and now a feature film co-production, which is partially in Dutch, is spoken of. Its already been announced for the film, Battle of the Scheldt simulates the military operation, Battle of the Scheldt, and in november of 2020, are on display, and 75 years after the liberation of the Netherlands.
Alain de Levita, best known under the Banker of the Resistance movement, the war drama will produce, reports Variety on Monday. The director is Matthijs van Heijningen. The film, which has a budget of eur 15.5 million usd (14 million euro), you will not only be able to see via Netflix, but the cinemas are going to run.
The story is set in 1944 and concerns a military operation in northern Belgium and the southwestern part of the Netherlands. It was the largest operation in the Netherlands, the territory in, during world War ii.
The story revolves around three people during the operation: as a young man, who is fighting on the side of the Germans, a role British zweefvliegtuigpiloot, and as a young girl, and that’s part of the resistance movement.
Gijs Blom, well known among the Boys as well as Painkillers, you will play the role of a Dutch-man, and Jamie Flatters (which can be seen in the follow-up to Avatar’s) will step into the boots of a British fighter pilot. Susan Radder is to be seen in the other lead role.
Also, the NPO’s and the FO are involved in the film and their first collaboration with Netflix will be like. Other producers include the director, Paula van der Oest (Tonio), and the Mark of the Centuries, who had previously played a part in the Good Times, the Bad Times, and the musical, The Bodyguard).
