Netflix’s “happy” to make for Season 3 of “Master of None” on “When Aziz [Ansari] is ready,” a Netflix executive said on 2018 Television Critics Associations’ Summer Press Tour on Sunday.
LOS ANGELES – Netflix is on board with a new season of “Master of None.”
“Certainly we have thought,” Vice-Chairman of the Original Series, Cindy Holland, told reporters in the 2018 Television Critics Associations’ Summer Press Tour in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday.
“We want to make a new season of ‘Master of None’ when Aziz [Ansari] is ready,” she said of the Emmy-award winning comedy series, Ansari, 35, created and stars in.
When asked if they have spoken with the comedian since news broke earlier this year that Ansari was accused of sexual assault, Netflix exec said that they had not.
In January, Ansari responded after a young woman claimed anonymously a date in the City of New York last year turned into a very uncomfortable situation for her.
The woman said, according to babe.net that Ansari would not take “no” as an answer when he took her back to his luxury Tribeca apartment and aggressively tried to have sex with her, ignoring her verbal and non-verbal signals to indicate her discomfort. The 23-year-old Brooklyn photographer said that they escaped to the apartment in an Uber “in tears” and expressed her displeasure with him in a text message the next day.
In a written statement to Fox News, in the time, Ansari said: “In September of last year, I met a woman at a party. We exchanged numbers. We texted back and forth and eventually went on a date. We went out to dinner, and then we engage in sexual activity, which by all indications was completely consensual.”
“The next day, I received a text from her to say that, although it seemed to be okay,’ on a closer look, she felt uncomfortable,” the statement continues.
“It is true that everything seemed okay to me, so when I heard that it is not the case for her, I was surprised and worried. I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said. I continue to support the movement that is going on in our culture. It is necessary and long overdue.”
After the star wore a Time’s Up pin-code on the 2018 Golden Globes ceremony, where he also won for Best Actor in a TV comedy or musical, the prosecutor said that she wanted to speak.
