NEC has promoted assistant Adrie Bogers to head coach
NEC Nijmegen has Adrie Bogers Tuesday appointed as the new head coach. Bogers was already assistant coach at the Jupiler League club.
The 52-year-old Bogers signs a contract for one year in Nijmegen, as confirmed by the club against NUsport. This will be followed by both parties evaluated.
He led last week, all the trainings of the first team. Bogers is the successor of Peter Hyballa, who last season just before the playoffs, was fired.
In the play-offs relegated NEC from the Premier league after two defeats against NAC. During that duels were the honours observed by assistant coaches Ron de Groot and Patrick Pothuizen. Pothuizen acts next season, along with goalkeeper coach Wilfried Brookhuis as assistant to the Bogers.
Bogers was the beginning of July by NEC initially hired as assistant coach. After his promotion, the technical staff is not further supplemented.
Previously worked Bogers as (interim)head coach at RKC Waalwijk, Sparta Rotterdam and NAC Breda. Also was the ex-defender of RKC and Willem II worked as an assistant to Willem II and the Japanese Urawa Reds.
