The annual nativity scene in St. peter’s square in the Vatican this year, in the character of the refugees.

In the nativity scene is next to life-size figures of Joseph and Mary, the three kings and an angel colour of this fishing boat to see.

The stall this year was a gift of the government and archdiocese of Malta and recalls, according to pope Francis”to the sad and tragic reality of the migrants” on their way to Italy. “In the painful experiences of your brothers and sisters, we recognize the baby Jesus again”.

In the nativity scene, that Friday was consecrated, are also a fallen cross and the remains of a pillar to be seen, possibly as a symbol for war and destruction.

Friday afternoon were also the lights in the 25-metre high christmas tree in the square lit.
