Naomi van As voted the best hockey star of 2016

Naomi van As is Thursday by the international hockey federation (FIH) named the best player of the past year.
The 229-fold international follows Lidewij Welten, who is a prestigious award won last year. Of Ashes was in 2009 already elected to hockey star of the year. Had the they award to share with the Argentine Luciana Aymar.
Last year, the 33-year-old Ash, who is under contract at Laren, with Orange to the finals at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. It was lost from Britain. Ash stopped then as international.
In 2008 and 2012, managed By Axis, with the Netherlands in to win olympic gold. With Orange, she was also twice world champion (2006 and 2014) and three-time European champion (2005, 2009 and 2011).
As doubts about the continuation of her lopbaan in Laren after this season. “That I decide in any event before the play-offs. Laren deserves to make it on time to know, and I also think it is fun – if I stop to have a nice way to say goodbye to,” she says against Hockey.nl.
There were also nominations for Joyce Sombroek (best keepster), Jaap Stockmann (best goalkeeper), Jorrit Croon (talent of the year) and Alyson Annan (best female coach), but they fell out of the prices.
The men’s Belgian John-John Dohmen voted the best player of 2016. Last year, the title to Dutchman Robert van der Horst.
