The House Judiciary Committee approved subpoenas for the Müller report; chief congressional correspondent Mike Emanuel reports from Capitol Hill.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler on Thursday requested Special Counsel Robert Mueller to appear before his Committee “as soon as possible”and no later than may 23.

Nadler, the request is Ministry came before the justice immediately before the release of Müller ‘ s report to Nadler Committee, the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the American public.

“It is clear that the Congress and the American people hear must be understood by Special Counsel Robert Müller, in person, to better his knowledge. We are now Mueller has requested to appear before @the house judiciary as soon as possible,” Nadler tweeted Thursday.

Nadler also attached a picture of the letter he sent to Müller Thursday, requesting his statement “as soon as possible, but in any case not later than 23. May, 2019.”

“I look forward to working with you on a mutually acceptable date,” Nadler wrote Mueller.

He added: “We can’t word the attorney-General, Barr. We need to read the full Mueller report and the underlying evidence. This is the level of transparency and ensuring accountability.”

There was no immediate reaction from Miller.

Nadler the request of Mueller’s testimony came just moments after Attorney General Bill Barr treated the press from the Ministry of justice. Barr confirmed that Mueller found no evidence of collusion between members of the Trump campaign, and the Russians during the 2016 presidential elections.

Barr said in the press conference later Thursday morning, he was the special counsel ‘ s submit, it would report that it is expected that more than 300-pages-long, the Chairman and ranking members of both the house and Senate judiciary committees, and the post would check the complete report from the justice Department, the website for the American public.

Barr explained that the redactions were “forced by the need to prevent harm to current Affairs and to comply with the court order prohibiting the public disclosure of information, influence on ongoing investigations and criminal proceedings.”

But as the DOJ tangles with Congress on redactions, Barr vowed to be a less redacted version available to the legislature. Still, he said, he puts the first version to 11 p.m. ET Thursday, describing the redactions as “limited.”

Barr vowed to work with Congress to “accommodate the legitimate interests of supervision with respect to the Special Counsel investigation.”

“Given the limited nature of the redactions, I believe that the published report will allow you to comprehend every American, the results of the Special Counsel investigation,” Barr said. “Nevertheless, in an effort to accommodate congressional requests, we will provide a cross-party group of conductors consisting of multiple congressional committees a report with all of the redactions removed, with the exception of the grand-jury information.”

Barr explains that the members of Congress, ” will be able to see the redacted materials for yourself – with the limited exception that can not be divided by law,” referencing the grand jury material included in the report.

Despite Barr’s promise, though, Nadler has already said that the Committee would “very soon” issue subpoenas for the full report, should he and his colleagues are dissatisfied with the amount and the basis for the redactions in the report released Thursday.

Nadler the request of Mueller’s testimony comes after a joint statement from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and the Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, also appear as for Muller to be in front of Congress.

“We believe that the only way to begin restoring public confidence in the handling of the Special Counsel’ s investigation is for the Special Counsel Müller, the self as a public testimony in the house of representatives and the Senate as soon as possible,” she wrote.

Later, Pelosi tweeted: “AG Barr has confirmed that the staggering partisan effort by the Trump-Admin spin public the views of the #Mueller report – complete with confirmation that the trump team has a preview. It is more urgent than ever before, Special Counsel Muller to testify before Congress.”
