Musical Hamilton premiered in Chicago
The hitmusical Hamilton, which is already a year and a half sold out venues, that draw on Broadway, Tuesday night premiered in Chicago. It is the first city after New York where the presentation was about the American founding fathers to see.
On Broadway is the show until the end of August 2017 sold out, and also in Chicago, the ticket sales hard. Hamilton of composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who until last month also played the leading role vertolke in New York, talks about the American founding fathers and their fight to the states to unite behind the constitution.
The history behind the American war of independence is told on the basis of rap music. The (white) characters are played by colored actors.
The show was earlier this year, the big winner of the Tony Awards, where the award-winning musical elf figurines in the awards.
President Barack Obama is one of the biggest fans of the production; the most powerful man in the world visited the piece several times and also organized a special performance in the White House.
In October 2017, has London the European premiere of the show. Theater producer Albert Verlinde recently spoke to the expectation that in a few years also a Dutch version of the piece on the shelves can be placed.
