Museum het Valkhof will get another three months for liquidity shortage,
Museum het Valkhof in Nijmegen will have three months to get their house in order and a new plan for the future.
The municipality of Nijmegen is willing to to september on a monthly basis to pay the amount by which fixed charges and salaries can be paid, although at this moment it is not clear how the liquidity problems of the museum will be solved.
The municipality and the province of Gelderland want to the formerly leading museum in the field of art and archaeology not to let fall, as appears from a letter which the mayor and aldermen Tuesday to the Nijmegen council have sent.
Museum with allure
“Nijmegen, the oldest city of the Netherlands, deserves a museum with allure on a historical place as the Valkhof”, said Mayor and Alderman.
Earlier this month, I found two reports that in a few years time, an organizational and financial mess originated in the museum.
