WILMINGTON, N. C. – A mother and baby killed when a tree smashed into their home under the four deaths caused by Hurricane Florence.
The monster storm felled trees around Wilmington, making a lot more close calls and damage to homes and cars.
The authorities say that the woman and her 8-month-old child died when the tree struck their one-story house in a residential street east of the center of Wilmington around 7 o’clock in the morning The father was admitted to the hospital with injuries.
Elsewhere in North Carolina, one person was killed, while the connection of a generator, and a man knocked to the ground while outside and died.
