More young smokers in the Netherlands
36 per cent of young people between the ages of 18 and 25 smoke regularly. In the period 2014-2015, the number of smokers in this age had risen again.
That is according to figures from the Central Bureau for Statistics, Trimbos-institute and RIVM.
It is for the first time in years that there is an increase noted in the number of young smokers. Between 2001 and 2006, the decline in the number of 42% to 34% and from 2011 to 2013, the number remained stable at 32 percent.
