More thick Germans than ever
A record number of Germans are overweight. Especially men at the end of their working lives (three-quarters) ways to many.
According to the German scientific institute for nutrition DGE suffers 59 per cent of men and 37 percent of women 18 to 65 years with obesity.
In men in the age group of 30 to 35 years, the figures nor beneficial. The zwaarlijvigen in this category are in the majority and that also applies to women from the age of 55.
What is remarkable is that Germans, more vegetables, berries and nuts to eat. Also, they drink more mineral water. Despite this positive trend, according to DGE from 1999, the percentage of overweight men was 8.3 percent. In women, it involves an increase of 4.5 percent.
