More Germans and Belgians holiday in the Netherlands by
This summer there are more tourists from Germany and Belgium travel to the Netherlands. The coast in particular is proving to be a popular vacation spot.
This is evident from a tour of The Telegraph along several Dutch holidays and tourism organizations.
The Dutch Bureau for Tourism & Congresses (NBTC) is expected this summer, 3.6 million foreign tourists, of which a third Germans. 15 percent of the tourists come from Belgium. According to spokesman Elsje van Vuuren keep the German tourists of cycling, museums and exhibitions, and they combine visits to the coast with cultuuractiviteiten in nearby towns.
Van Vuuren reports that there will be less growth in the number of “tourists in their own country”. It is expected that 4.7 million Dutch people spend their holidays within the borders of the country.
Roompot vakanties confirms the growth. They let you know that this year in the period of July and August, 15 percent in belgium, and 21 percent more Germans in their forty resorts is expected in comparison with the previous year. There are a total of 10.2 million overnight stays booked, which is 23 percent by German guests, and 10 percent in Belgium. Especially vacations to the coast appear to be in demand.
Roompot Projects, the projectontwikkelingstak of the company, also see that more people from Germany and Belgium, a holiday home to buy in the Netherlands.
In total, in 2017 by the NBTC, and CBS 16.5 million foreign tourists are expected. 4.8 million are from Germany, and 2.2 million from Belgium. Two million tourists come from England and 1.2 million from America. There is also a growing number of Chinese tourists expected: this number increases from 300,000 to 500,000 in 2020.
