Mongolian court convicts three men for political murder
A Mongolian court has three men sentenced to prison sentences of 24 to 25 years for the murder of Sanjaasuren Zorig. The trial took place behind closed doors.
From the Mongolian politics was criticism of the fact that the lawsuit behind closed doors took place. Deputy prime minister Tsend Nyamdorj stated that the due to the secrecy might seem as if there is repression.
Zorig, who in Mongolia known as the “golden swallow of democracy”, was in 1998 murdered. The expectation was that Zorig premier would be of the young democratic state of Mongolia until he is at the age of 36 to life was brought.
