Eduard Both (23) is laatstejaarsstudent fashion at the Academy of Antwerp. He launched this season, a collection of socks under the name of Creative Anonymous Projects (CAP).
“I was not planning its own brand to start. It is, rather, an idea of my friend. He knew someone with a sokkenfabriek in Thailand and suggested to the breistalen of my graduation collection socks. I pushed on high up-front costs and minimumoplages that I would never pick up. I found myself a manufacturer in France. When I got my first technical drawings sent, they said ‘that is not’ and ‘you do know that that is not beautiful’. I have had everything there is to explain. There are many brands on the market those socks, but actually they do so little with it. At most, a fun print or color. You can, however, all sides are taking off if you play with breitechnieken: by one pitch to change as you get a different sock.
I am with my prototypes to the people of Renaissance stepped on, to know if they are there commercial opportunities in saw. They have a beautiful order is placed. In the meantime, we have six sales outlets in Belgium, and we are next to brands such as Marni and Acne Studios. A few months ago I met someone from the design team of Paul & Joe know. He loved our socks so much that we could design for their autumn / winter collection. It was all very last minute, the socks had to be in two weeks ready, and I had an interim event at school, but it worked. I am glad that we persevered.”
