Mira Ricardel, former Deputy national security adviser, had been expelled from the White house in November, after an extraordinary public scolding by the first lady, Melania Trump, is now under consideration for a top job in the Pentagon, Fox News learned.

The White house had said Ricardel, 58, would be “the transition to a new role within the administration” shortly after she reportedly collided with Melania Trump, the employees of the seat group in a plane during the first lady’s trip to Africa last month. The Wall Street Journal reported that Ricardel was also suspected of leaking negative stories about the first lady’s office.

Ricardel, a close ally of the National security adviser, John Bolton, had, in addition, trump sparred with former White house chief of staff John Kelly, and former Secretary of defense James Mattis — senior officials who recently left the administration.

“It is the position of the office of the First Lady that she deserves the honor of serving in this White house,” the first lady of the spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement that in November, on Ricardel.

Sources told Fox News at the time that Bolton and his inner circle were caught completely off-guard by this statement, the said a source, was released strategically, while Bolton was out of the country in Asia with Vice-President Mike Pence, and will not be able to address the fallout.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon on Monday named Eric Chewning, the deputy assistant secretary of defense for industrial policy, the next chief of staff, the acting Minister of defence, Patrick Shanahan, the former Boeing CEO, took over last week after Mattis’ abrupt resignation.

“Mr. Chewning to bring a number of military and industry experience to the role,” Acting Pentagon chief spokesman, Charles E. summer, said in a statement. “Mr. Chewning has occurred first service to our nation, when he left his position as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley & co. to enlist in the U.S. army after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.”


Chewning, then attended officer candidate school and served as an army intelligence officer, was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Humanitarian Service medal, and the U. S Army Combat Action Badge, according to the Pentagon.

“After his active service, Mr. Chewning a decade of work in the private sector began. Immediately prior to joining DoD, he was a partner at McKinsey & Co,” Summers said. “Mr. Chewning looks to continue his service in his new role, in addition to the soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and civilians of the Department of Defense.”
