Outgoing Minister of defense of Jim Mattis has been signed, to pull orders, that all American troops from Syria in the coming weeks, a senior defense official told Fox News on Sunday.
Pentagon officials refused to discuss specifics, including the timeline, citing operational security for the roughly 2,000 U.S. troops in Syria.

While the U.S. military plans to leave Syria, there are no plans to withdraw the more than 5,000 U.S. troops in neighboring Iraq. Some could be used by those of special forces for raids against “high value targets” in Syria from bases in Iraq, if necessary, officials said.

Trump ‘ s messenger in the ISIS coalition, Brett McGurk, resigned, announced on Friday, just a day after Mattis for his resignation.
French and British special forces will remain in Syria, both countries defense ministries. Air attacks from these Nations will continue.
