Millions of Mexican women have to stay at home in protest against gender violence

Millions of Mexican women have been on Monday not to go to work or go to school in protest of the many, many, violence against women in the country.

The protest, shall bear the name ‘Day Sin ‘Mujeres’ (a day without a woman). Due to a long day to withdraw from public life and would like to let women see what it would be like if the women in the society, will disappear.

Over the past five years, violence against women, with a 137 per cent increase, show figures from the Mexican government. On average, a day ten women are murdered in the Central American country.
