NEWPORT, R. I. – Senior military representatives from more than 100 countries have gathered in Rhode Island to talk about ways to work together and address shared challenges.
Adm. John Richardson, the AMERICAN chief of naval operations, was the host of the 23rd International Seapower Symposium at the U. S. Naval War College in Newport. The decision Friday.
The group consists of about 80 heads of the marines and 20 heads of the coast guard.
The theme is safety, order and prosperity.
Richardson spoke to the group about the importance of international cooperation. He said that they have a “desire to sail together in the support of our fellow citizens.”
Vice Adm. Michael Noonan, head of the Royal Australian Navy, says that it is a network possibility. He says that the German Naval chief gave him a number of ideas about how to recruit and retain staff, for example.
