Comparing Miley Cyrus is now the Hannah Montana of her past, it is safe to say that fans around the world to see “the best of both worlds” for the flamboyant singer.
This past weekend, Miley celebrated the 13-year anniversary of Hannah Montana premiered with the upload of several throwback photos from her Disney-days—coupled with a sense of humour is inappropriate captions.
In a surprisingly tame (in contrast to 2010, the single “Can’t Be Tamed”) post, Cyrus tweeted a smiley throwback just the caption, “it’s the 13th anniversary of the first HM episode on the air.” The innocent photo adds a stark contrast with the singer of the current shock value image.

As a result of that shock value, Miley took to Instagram to post throwbacks with a rather bold captions. The first one has a visible shocked Hannah Montana with a caption that states, “Hannah look at the 2013 VMAs.” The caption was an obvious reference to Miley’s breakout twerking performance that really started to separate the star from her Disney Channel past.

The following image featured Hannah Montana making a shushing gesture. The caption reads: “After Hannah’s psychic reading where she was told in 10 years she would become a big stoner and wearing pasties on the stage.” Cyrus has been open about her past use of marijuana and is known for her boundary pushing attires at large events.

With that message featured Hannah Montana in a boxing ring, stating that she is ready for the fight for gay rights. Cyrus is an avid supporter of the LGBT community, and is outspoken about her views of various sexual and gender-norms.

Father Billy Ray Cyrus also chimed in on the birthday, posting a photo of the cast on Instagram. In the post, he declared, “Dang Flabbit! Happy Birthday #HannahMontana! 13 years ago today we released the pilot!” The country singer often remains mum when it comes to his daughter’s controversial actions, but acknowledged that her past in this reflective post.
