The TV host explains why the unemployment rate is, in spite of the millions of available jobs.
“Returning the Favor” the host, Mike Rowe, has a message for businesses at the National Hire A Veteran Day.
The 57-year-old told Fox News in an exclusive statement on Thursday that the business owners have a “simple question” to be asked today.
“If you own a business that employs people, you have to make yourself a very simple question, I have built up a veterinary-friendly on-ramp in my organization, doesn’t it?

“And if the answer is ‘yes’,’ congratulations! You have done a good job. If the answer is “no”, you have to ask yourself, ‘why not?'”
He concluded, “it’s up to you to build on a veterinary-friendly on-ramp in your organization. Because the truth is, there is no good reason not to do it.”
The former “Dirty Jobs” star has been vocal about ensuring young Americans are equipped with the necessary skills and trades to help them out of the land of employment.

This past August, the Region has talked about the “disconnect” that happens in the education system, the confusion in the recent grads who matriculate to four-year institutions and enter the workforce with a false expectation.
“The expectation is real, and the hope is this:” I want to get a job in my field of study. I would like to get a job to pay for are not only free, but it is good. And, interestingly enough, I would like to get a job in my zip code. As is right now. I’m not really into all of this is to move to where the work is,” Rowe said at the time.
The region, which will be in 2017, said his college had, he said, he “strongly support[s] education in all its forms.” He added that he was just at the push of a four-year college degree at all.

“I’m against it – consistently – it is not in the best interest of the higher education sector, but the relentless drumbeat of” college for all,'” he said. Because of this a cookie-cutter approach to education assumes that all worthwhile knowledge can only be obtained from a college or university. This is the most dangerous myth of them all.”
He suggested that the push of the four-year colleges and at the high school and college students, and has led the schools to stop with the provision of practical and professional skills, and to the left of “6 million jobs that have not been trained to do.”
“Well, that is a defect. It’s real, and it’s a big issue for anyone who shares my addiction to smooth roads, clean air, indoor plumbing,” he wrote on the social media.

He concluded, “I will continue to challenge the notion that college is the only place where you can have a meaning.”
