(Reuters) – Microsoft Corp’s (MSFT.(O) said on Monday that they will make use of chipmaker Nvidia Corp (NVDA.(O) real-time ray-tracing technology to the software company, Minecraft is a video game for the players and more realism to personal computers.
Real-time ray-tracing, or the ability to use the chip, in order to simulate how the sun’s rays will bounce around within a visual scene, it will help the video games, the computer graphics are more similar to the shadows and reflections in the real world.
Last week, Nvidia posted second quarter results ahead of Wall Street targets and said that the cost-effectiveness got a boost from the new high-end graphics chips for video-game players too.
“I think we have to put all the pieces in place to bring in ray tracing is the future of gaming. The number of blockbuster games set RTX is a real snowball effect,” Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jen-Hsun Huang said at a post-transcription.
Other games have the same graphic technology, Activision Blizzard’s (ATVI.(O) “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare”, Ubisoft Toronto’s “Watch Dogs: “Legion”, and Tencent Following the Studio’s “Sync is Off Planet,” Nvidia said on Monday.
Minecraft is a construction game in which players can build nearly anything imaginable, block by block, in a digital, Lego like world has spread itself like wildfire since its full release in 2011, as a developer, Mojang, which was bought by Microsoft in 2014.
In May of this year, Microsoft said in 176 million versions of the game have been sold since its launch.
