A Michigan mother who pleaded guilty to running over her 9-year-old son, resulting in a brain injury to the child, will serve 30 days in jail, according to reports.

But on Thursday, Kent County Circuit Judge Curt Benson sentenced Kosakowski to six months in prison with all but 30 days suspended — despite calling her actions “simply inexcusable.”
