A Michigan state trooper is seen grabbing a 2-year-old girl out of the way, just for a dump truck over.
A Michigan State Police sergeant has received praise after his quick thinking saved a 2-year-old girl who had wandered onto a busy roadway on Friday.
State police released dash cam video of the horrific incident, the show of Sgt. Joseph Richards, who patrol in Alcona County, climbing to his squad car and rushing to get the scoop of the child.

He quickly grabbed the girl — just for a red dump truck passed. The police said in a statement the driver of the truck tried to stop when he noticed that the child on the roadway, but was not able to brake before reaching the place.
“If it were not for Sgt. Richards’ fast-paced action, this incident could have ended in tragedy,” the police statement said.

The girl’s mother told authorities she lost track of her daughter shortly before the incident. The child was returned to her mother, who lives on the other side of the busy roadway.
