Michigan college student suspended amidst allegations of threat

DETROIT – Police say a student at Wayne State University in Detroit has been suspended, amid accusations that he pulled a knife on the campus and made threatening remarks about immigrants.

The Detroit Free Press reports that the student went to a table on Tuesday, where the members of the social justice and pro-immigrant rights group By Any Means Necessary were passing out the literature.

University police chief Anthony Holt says the college prohibits weapons or any other form of violence.” No costs were announced.

BAMN organizer Kate Stenvig, says the student is wearing a Donald Trump t-shirt and said: immigrants should be “deported or killed.” They recorded video of the encounter.

The university President M. Roy Wilson in a statement saying the school encourages “respectful dialogue” and “passionate debate”, but “there is no place for violence or threats.”
