Michael Fassbender was in talk to play the role of the Dutch football coach Thomas Rongen, in Taika Waititi’s new film Next Goal Wins, writes Variety.
The film is based on the same-named documentary film in 2015, which the Rungs will be followed while he is in the soccer team of American Samoa, under his wing.
The 62-year-old, originally from Amsterdam, lived and worked in the United States of america, where he was an analyst in the various sports programs.
The 42-year-old Fassbender was most recently seen in ” X-Men movie the Dark Phoenix. He also has a role in the vechtsportfilm Kung Fury 2. It is not yet clear when the film opens.
