Mexican state confirms ICE detainee wanted for murder

MEXICO CITY – An official of the Mexican state of Guanajuato confirm that a man arrested by the immigration agents in California wanted on an arrest warrant for murder in Mexico.

The official is not authorized to be quoted by name and could not say when the crime was committed, but said that it was an intentional murder case, to compare with an AMERICAN murder charge.

The official said Monday that Mexican prosecutors had asked the U.S. government to help find and hold Joel Arrona Lara.

Arrona Lara’s wife had to drive himself to the hospital to give birth without her husband, after he was detained by immigration agents Wednesday in San Bernardino.

The couple came to the U.S. 12 years ago from the city of Leon, Guanajuato, without legal permission to live in the USA
