Mexican resort of Acapulco hit by floods

Floods and landslides by heavy rainfall have significant damage in and around the popular Mexican resort of Acapulco.

Dozens of houses and schools were under water. About two hundred residents came by the floods to be stuck in their houses. They were taken by helicopter evacuated by the police and the army. The residents have temporary shelter received, notify local authorities, according to AFP.

The torrential rains caused by a tropical depression, started on Saturday. By landslides were access roads impassable. In Acapulco itself, a collapsed road in by the excess water. Two cars fell into the hole, three occupants were injured.

The state of Geurrero has the army deployed and a contingency plan drawn up.
