Merol is working on a German translation of its Dutch-speaking area. The singer, known for hits such as ” Good With The Girls and No Shit, speak the language well, and is comfortable working on a song and Hold Your Mouth, And Strips Me to translate it into German, says they are in talks with NU.nl.
The singer is aware of the fact that her work is something typically Dutch to have it. “What I do is text, is central, and therefore it is very much language dependent. Something like go out With The Girls, it can be almost impossible for the English to translate it”, she says.
In German, it’s a different story. “The German is closer to English, so that it is easier for us to do. Of course, I have to have a concept to as to The Pipe in the area of Amsterdam, is mentioned in the lyrics of the song, ed.). then translate it into a fashionable neighbourhood in the city of Berlin.”
Merol looks to be at about the limit for a career to get off the ground. “In Belgium, I have been in performances, so that it should be a little bit on it, but I would really like to get to the German-speaking areas. I’d like to have a lot of friends. We also need to have a look. In America, of course, would also be great, even if it means that they don’t. I’ve been listening lots to, for example, Rosalìa, and don’t speak a word of Spanish.”
Merol released on Friday, the new single, Then You’re out. An EP will follow later in the year. In the fall, she is going on a club tour, which she closed the show in the main hall of Paradiso, amsterdam on the 29th of december.
