Madeleine Meppelink/Sophie van Gestel and Jolien Sinnema/Joy Stubbe have Friday the tussenronde survived at the european CHAMPIONSHIPS of beach volleyball. Annemieke Driessen and Ilke Meertens placed for the second round.
The as fifteenth-placed duo Meppelink/Van Gestel was in the Latvian Jurmala in two exciting sets too strong for the Russian women Olga Motrich and Svetlana Kholomina, that if 23rd were classified: 21-19 and 21-18.
The Dutch couple fights later on Friday with the first-placed German women’s Chantal Laboureur and Julia Sude to a place in the last eight.
