Several police officers suffered minor injuries Wednesday night after the crowd had responded to an officer-involved shooting in Memphis, Tennessee.

At least three police officers have been loaded into the ambulance, and FOX 13 in Memphis reported.

The city’s police department tweeted that the undisclosed number of officers had been receiving medical attention from paramedics at the scene.

The police reported that they had received a call for help from the u.s. Marshals Service earlier in the evening.

The officers of the Memphis Police Department and other agencies responded Wednesday evening to a large disturbance in the city’s Frayser area, the reports said.

The Commercial Appeal of Memphis reported that it was a “tense standoff” developed between law enforcement and residents after a shooting in the Frayser area.

Law enforcement agencies should not release the victim’s identity or medical condition, but two of the local politicians identified by the victim as Brandon Has said that he had passed away, the newspaper reported.

As the crowd grew restless and several gunshots were heard and police have been seen with shields and batons.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) also responded, FOX 13 reported.

The NAACP tweeted that the organization was monitoring events in the city.

The crowd began to disperse around 10 a.m., the Commercial Appeal reported.
