Meghan Markle was not ‘A-list’ enough for the designers, the friend says

It is perhaps hard to believe, but there was a time that Meghan Markle was not famous enough for fashion designers.

Before she married Prince Harry, Markle was an actress. While they regularly “Catch” she was apparently not appear in enough films for the fashion industry to notice her.

Markle’s make-up artist and old friend, Daniel Martin, discussed the Duchess of Sussex history with Gayle King for the CBS special “Meghan and Harry Plus One.” While designers may be desperate to catch her attention now, that was not always the case.

“There were times that the designers would not send her anything, because she was not an A-list actress or she was not to do movies,” explains Martin. Now, she is considered a style icon, and the outfits to sell out after she’s seen wearing them. “They always had such an innate sense of her own style, so I am glad that people can see that,” Martin said.

MEGHAN MARKLE WAS A FAN OF BOXED MAC AND CHEESE

Apparently, after being ignored by stylists, Markle learned to fend for themselves. Now she’s got options, she is still picking out her own outfits. “They don’t need a stylist, everything she wears she takes herself,” he continued. “Not a stylist. It is pretty incredible that they manage.”

Martin also discussed some of the rumors around Markle, and her apparent reputation of demanding. An emotional Martin said the King, “I know her so well and I know that they don’t deserve all this negative press.”
